Funny Thing About Stress...

It hits you when you least expect it. Like today for instance. My husband quit his job when we moved up here a month ago. Long story. It sounds like a very foolish thing to do in this economy but we both felt that it had sapped his spirit long enough. Twenty three years long. I may talk about it someday.

We felt God had something else for him and were willing to step out in faith. I wish that meant we never felt impatient or anxious. But for the most part we have been pretty good about his looking for a job while not having a job.

Until today. He was going in for a final interview and knew he had the job. Knew it. Yet as the time came for him to get ready and go, things got kind of hot and anxious around the house. It was quite unpleasant. This is another view of the supportive wife. Trying to keep her husband calm when he is not feeling calm.

The truth is that men feel very deeply the fact that they must support their families. A good man does not take this responsibility lightly and although mine had been deceptively calm throughout this whole quit and move thing, inside he was far from it.

His new job will take several weeks training and licensing before getting started. He has been faithful up until now and we know the Lord will take care of us until then.

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."Proverbs 3:5-6
