The Simple Woman's Daybook - October 18

Outside my window the early morning fog is just lifting. I can see patches of pink sky.

I am thinking about taking a shower.

I am thankful that my husband is at work. This is his second day at his new job!

From the kitchen I can smell coffee just brewed. I need to finish my cup.
I am wearing pajamas and robe. I wore brightly striped, fuzzy socks to bed last night and they are still on.
I am creating a beautiful cross stitch and will be working on that this morning.

I am going to stay home this morning because the lady is coming to tune my piano. Finally!

I am reading Lo Michael by Grace Livingston Hill. She wrote over 100 Christian romance books from 1900 to 1946. I love to pick them up periodically and reread her lovely stories.
I am hoping to get some rest now that the real estate agent, landlord, and house inspectors have done their thing. After the piano tuner leaves I will have the house (practically) to myself.

I am hearing the sound of furnace. I can't believe how much the temperature has dropped.
Around the house I am happy to say it is clean.

One of my favorite things is to play the piano. We found a beautiful and good sounding one on Craigslist for 300 dollars. Wow, God is good!
A few plans for the rest of the week: I will be playing my newly tuned piano, cross stitching, taking the dogs out in this crisp fall weather, and enjoying my last week with my hubby. He has a meeting this morning than comes home for the rest of the week to do some more online classes, this time for his company. So much training! He starts working in earnest next week.

The Simple Woman's Daybook - September 14

This is my first entry for The Simple Woman's Daybook.

Outside my window it is an absolutely beautiful day. Sunny, warm but not too warm. The squirrel which is my little dog's nemesis buried something right in front of our front door. On purpose?

I am thinking about how good God has been to us since the move. My husband is starting to hear back from some applications he put in and we just got the car title from the DMV in the mail.

I am thankful for my children and the peaceful home we have.

From the learning rooms I hear the whispers of the past in present time. My children live out their teachings every day

From the kitchen I smell breakfast for dinner! Everyone's favorite!

I am wearing lounge wear. I have been indisposed for the last couple of days.

I am creating a new home with this new household. I am trying to make it beautiful but simple. We want to keep many things packed for when we buy a house.

I am going to start cutting strips for my braided rug

I am reading the 365 Daily Devotional Bible and loving it!

I am hoping to feel better tomorrow

I am hearing the sounds of the kitchen being cleaned by my hubby. So sweet of him!

Around the house a stack of aprons are beside me waiting to have pictures taken of them to be listed on Etsy.

One of my favorite things about fall is all the wonderful food! I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm tired of BBQ!

A few plans for the rest of the week: Finishing the strips for the rug and starting to braid them. Having my daughter over this weekend for dinner. She wants the homemade version of chili mac. Homemade mac n cheese and chicken chili.

A mushroom from our front yard. We moved from a very dry area and are surprised and delighted to see these cute little guys.
